As the new year begins, he's focusing on bringing more jobs to the area.
"When I was out campaigning people would come up to me and ask, 'can you help us get a job? We want to work,'" says Robinson. "And this town has a lot of young people willing to work, if they had an opportunity."
The mayor credits the high school with helping prepare young people for the real world.
"Our students will be ready for the workforce," says Principal Yolanda Jefferson. "This is what employers want everyday: students that are prepared. They do hands on learning with technology everyday."
Mayor Robinson says he wants to see business in the town revived.
"We're wanting to move forward to improve our industrial park and get some businesses in this town," says Robinson. "We need some economic growth, and we need some jobs."
People who live in Plain Dealing want some other things to change.
