Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a house fire that killed a man in Cedar Grove.

The blaze broke out shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of West 83rd Street.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was engulfed in flames and heavy smoke was coming from the windows and doors.

Investigators say Greg Mills, 51, died in the blaze.

This is the Shreveport Fire Department's first fire fatality of 2013.
