The State Fair of Texas needs your help to rebuild Big Tex.

KXAS, our NBC affiliate in Dallas is reporting that state fair officials are accepting donations to help restore the cultural figure who has greeted visitors since 1952.

Big Tex was destroyed by an electrical fire last October.

Officials say he was only insured for up to $200,000 but it's estimated to cost $600,000 to rebuild the icon.

Big Tex will get some engineering upgrades, including a fire suppression system.

You can click on this link www.bigtex.com to make an online donation.
