Just when you thought gas was the only expensive necessity you had to worry about, here comes another to add to the list: milk.
"Everything going up right now," says customer Willie Lynn. "Gas prices, a whole lot of things going up, so."
If congress doesn't come up with a new farm bill by Tuesday, a gallon of milk could cost up to $8 come February.
"If the price of milk goes up to $8, I feel like that's way too much," says customer Rodney Smith.
Workers at the Cascio's Food Mart in Bossier City say the price hike will affect business.
"It's going to go up to $6 to $8, that's too much for them," says worker Abdul Waheed. "It's going to get slow for us."
Even if congress doesn't have a new bill by Tuesday, all hope is not lost.
The current bill gives the agriculture secretary wiggle room to step in and adjust prices if they go up.
