Shreveport City Council votes in redistricting plan

Shreveport City Council gave the green light to keep Valencia and Stoner Hill together in District B under the revised Plan 12 for redistricting.

For months there was controversy over District B and how to keep it diverse and reflect the current population.

"I'm very happy to see them vote for it. We have a history here with Stoner Hill and they come support us and understand our needs," long time Valenica resident Howard Allen said.

From here the plan is sent to the Department of Justice.
