KNBC, our sister station in Los Angeles, reports that a man has been arrested for allegedly setting a homeless woman on fire.

The incident happened at 1 a.m. Thursday outside a Walgreen's near Van Nuys Boulevard and Sherman Way.

Witnesses told police the woman was sleeping on a street bench when a man doused her with an accelerant, lit a match and then fled on foot.

The woman is in critical condition at an area hospital.
