Chesapeake Energy surprises Shreveport veterans with a special donation and holiday party.

Friday the energy company donated a 2010 Chevy Silverado, formerly of the Chesapeake's work fleet, to Woody's Home for Veterans.

The donated truck will be used to transport residents to medical appointments, haul large donations and replace the use of personal vehicles by staff members.

Paul Pratt, Chesapeake's Director of Corporate Development said, "The care given to these heroes at Woody's Home for Veterans is not only a blessing to this community but to our country. Chesapeake is proud to support such an organization and provide Christmas cheer in any way possible."

As part of Chesapeake's H.E.L.P. (Helping Energize Local Progress) for the Holidays initiative, the company also recruited the efforts of its employees to donate essential hygiene items to the home and to give each resident a Christmas gift.
