President Obama says the time is for action not just discussion and Vice President Joe Biden will oversee the task force reccommendation not only for the gun control issues but mental health concerns.
Locally Representative Barbara Norton has her own ideas on how to curb gun violence.
"My legislation will allow gun owners to be responsible for keeping their guns in a secure place," Norton said.
Owners would be accountable, especially if someone breaks in and steals your guns when they are not locked up.
"When you're up and moving around and have your guns laying out, we're wanting you to lock them up," Norton said.
