"At one point, we was almost at the $5 mark. So it's just great to have gas under $3," said Mary Moore, of Shreveport, La.
"I'm surprised to see it go down after the election," said Jay Cook, of Bossier City. "I'm pleased; makes my money go a whole lot further."
According to gasbuddy.com, in Shreveport, gasoline is averaging $3.01 per gallon. In November, it averaged $3.15 per gallon. Sam's Club on Youree Drive has the lowest price in Shreveport at $2.91 per gallon. In Bossier City, Murphy's USA, located in front of the Wal-Mart on Airline Drive, has the lowest price, with unleaded gasoline selling for $2.94 per gallon.
According to the US Labor Department, the cost of gasoline dropped 7.4 percent in November, the biggest drop in almost four years. Analysts expect prices to continue to fall nationwide through the end of the year.
