Christmas is magic - just ask the kids in the Head Start Program at Caddo Community Action Agency. Today, their gym was transformed into a Christmas wonderland, complete with games, story time, arts and crafts and a shiny new toy for every child there.
But the real magic happened on a shopping trip when Byrd High chums Keonna Owen and Brea Housley decided they wanted to help underprivileged children have a better Christmas, and spent the next three weeks soliciting help and donations from the community and businesses.
In addition to soliciting aid from the community, 21 of the girls' schoolmates at Byrd volunteered to help at the event, and spent the morning reading stories, playing games and helping the children with arts and crafts.
Owen and Housley decided to call their event "Four Hands, One Plan," and by the end of the day, were already thinking about next year.
