A Bossier family is looking for a place to stay after an early morning house fire.

Shortly before 5 a.m. Friday firefighters were called to the 4100 block of Parkway Drive.

When crews arrived they found flames coming from the home's carport and attic. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The family inside was able to escape but their nine dogs were killed in the blaze.

The house also sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage.

Investigators believe the blaze may have been caused by an electric space heater.
