Bossier police officer arrested

A Bossier City police officer accused of stealing has lost his job.

Joseph Caples, 38, was arrested Thursday for allegedly pawning two stolen saxophones that had been taken in a vehicle burglary.

Caples was booked in the Bossier City Jail and charged with illegal possession of stolen things, theft and malfeasance in office. His bond is set at $15,000.

Caples had been working with the Bossier City Police Department for nearly 11 years and had been assigned to the patrol division.
