The city of Texarkana is mourning the loss of one of its own.

The Texarkana Police Department has announced that Dave Hall, Director of the Office of Emergency Management died suddenly Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after 1 p.m. first responders found Hall in cardiac arrest at his home but were unable to resuscitate him.

Interim City Manager Charlie Bassett said "The news of Dave's untimely death has hit our City very hard,". "Dave contributed greatly to the delivery of Emergency Management services in our city, county, and region, and his endeavors have earned him the respect of all the state and national organizations with which he interfaced."

Hall had been employed with the Office of Emergency Management since January, 1988.  He started volunteering with Civil Defense in 1974 and worked many disasters to help protect the citizens of Texarkana.

My heart and prayers go out to Dave's family, especially his wife, Ann, who was my BEST FRIEND EVER in high school.
