Christmas is a time for giving and the United Way of Northwest Louisiana has some creative ideas on how you can give to those in need.

Thursday United Way will launch its 12 Days of Giving Campaign to help the less fortunate in Shreveport-Bossier.

Every day the organization will feature a different way to give back to the community on Facebook, Twitter and billboards.

Bruce Willson, President and CEO of United Way of Northwest Louisiana said "There are so many people in our community that need help, and we thought that we would provide some ideas to the public on how they can assist."

If you're interested in volunteering with United Way you can visit their website at www.unitedwaynwla.org or call their office at 318-677-2504.
