Community leaders along with employees aren't happy about future plans for LSU Health Shreveport. Interim system president, Dr. William Jenkins discussed reorganization plans for the entire system.
He's currently forming a transitional advisory team. Dr. Jenkins says the system is in a time of great change. The board of supervisors is looking for ways to save money.
Dr. Jenkins stressed closing LSU Health is not going to happen. He says the overall goal is to streamline the leadership structure and strengthen the academic standing of the university.
He adds the state can no longer afford the costs of higher education. Currently, the Board of Supervisors is looking at cost some saving measures.
