The holidays are officially here in the ArkLaTex. Here's a rundown of some of the events going on this weekend:
Friday
The newest addition to Christmas in Roseland is Family Friday Fun Night. Every Friday through December 23rd, families can enjoy a special treat. This week Gators and Friends are coming out and folks can pet a baby alligator while enjoying the millions of Christmas lights.
For 16 years, the Bilberry Park Community Center has lit up like a Christmas tree. Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation folks are hosting the annual Merry Berry Christmas Festival Lighting Ceremony at 6 P.M. Refreshments will be served, and the public is welcome to join in on the festivities.
Saturday
The annual Old Fashioned Christmas Parade in Southern Hills rolls out Saturday afternoon. The parade route begins and ends at Caddo Parish Sheriff's Safety Town on Jewella after rolling through a three mile route. It's a time when neighbors get a chance to celebrate the holidays together by coming out and supporting the organizations and families of the south hills community. That starts at 4:30 P.M.
It's also parade time in Benton tomorrow. That's after a full day of holiday cheer at the annual Christmas on the Square Festival featuring the man of the season, Santa! The Christmas parade starts at 3 P.M.
