Mayor Glover is back at his downtown office.
Wednesday Glover was greeted with hugs and kisses as he entered government plaza.
The mayor has been absent from his office since Oct. 3 when he seriously injured both of his legs in a slip-and-fall accident.
For the past several weeks Glover had been working from his hospital room at Christus Schumpert Medical Center. He participated in conference calls and used his laptop to respond to emails and make assignments.
The mayor is eager to become fully immersed in discussions about the 2013 budget, which is set for final approval next week by the City Council.
Glover said " I am looking forward to having substantive discussions with the Council about ways to generate more money to fix our streets." "I believe we have the opportunity now to do more than just patch a few streets here and there and I'm sure all of us can agree that a pay-as-you-go approach is the least effective option."
Meantime, Glover will have to use a walker for support and spend several hours each week in physical therapy as he recovers from a surgery to repair his ruptured tendons.
