According to Fuller Center for Housing Executive Director Lee Jeter, Roger Waters, a former member of the band "Pink Floyd," has pledged to give the Fuller Center for Housing $300,000. The donation will be used to build four homes for veterans participating in the Volunteers of America Veterans Transitional Housing Program.
Four veterans participating in the program will be selected for the new homes. The homes will be built in the Stoner-Hill neighborhood in Shreveport. Construction is scheduled to begin in March. Jeter said he will be needing lots of volunteers to complete the project.
Jeter hopes the pledge will inspire others to donate to the non-profit so it can continue fulfilling its mission.
The Fuller Center for Housing is a faith-based non-profit that seeks to build affordable homes for people who are unable to secure adequate housing by conventional means.
