A group of Bossier students are committed to staying drug-free.

Monday Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington was on hand to congratulate 273 students who completed the Drug Abuse Resistance Program at Curtis Elementary.

The program was led by D.A.R.E. instructor Deputy Norman Craig and Curtis Elementary principal Sherri Pool.

D.A.R.E. teaches young people how to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs and violence.

The graduates from Curtis Elementary will join more than 700 Bossier 5th graders who will graduate from D.A.R.E. programs this week.
