Moving millions of pounds of explosvie materials from Camp Minden is turning into a costly operation. Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton says at this time the sheriff's office is responsible for all costs related to this operation. Currently more than a 100 law enforcement officers are on the ground in Webster Parish.
According to Sheriff Sexton overtime will be one of the biggest expenses. Deputies have been assigned to 12 hour shifts.
The agencies involved are the Louisiana Sheriff's Association Taskforce, Caddo Sheriff's Office along with Bossier, Bienville and DeSoto Parishes.
An exact dollar figure hasn't been released. The longer the operation takes the more the expenses will start to add up for the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office.
Residents in the Doyline area are already seeking compensation for their expenses related to this situation. A lawsuit was filed in Webster Parish District Court. Four plaintiffs are listed in the suit against Explo Systems. Bossier City attorney Kyle Robinson is representing them.
