A judge has sentenced a man who shot a Shreveport police officer during the execution of a search warrant at a local motel.
Monday Jasmond Osborne was sentenced to 30 years in prison for attempted first degree murder.
Osborne had entered a guilty plea in October to the charge rather than face a Caddo Parish jury.
In January Osborne fired a shot which struck a member of the Shreveport Police Department's Special Response Team during a narcotics raid on a room in the 4900 block of Greenwood Rd.
The officer's body armor was credited with saving his life.
