Man arrested after bizarre crash on I-49

A man is behind bars after he allegedly slams his car into another vehicle injuring a Shreveport couple.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 49.

Authorities believe Weston Ericson of Diamond Head, Mississippi was traveling at a high rate of speed when he plowed into Warren and Linda Windham.

Ericson's car flipped several times before landing on its side. After the crash witnesses claim Ericson, who was not clothed, crawled from his car and began hitting Mrs. Windham.

Passing motorists were able to restrain Ericson until police arrived on the scene.

The Windhams suffered only minor injuries.

Ericson, who was treated for a broken arm, has been charged with DWI.
