Camp Caney has become a refuge for four families, as they wait for authorities to move improperly stored explosives at Camp Minden.

They are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and are provided a free place to stay. Many of the families said the evacuation has turned into a mini vacation.

"At first I thought it'd be boring but then it turned out to be fun," said Citaly Valle. Her family lives within a mile of the site where the explosives were improperly stored.

Camp site workers said they have around five cabins available for Doyline resident. Each cabin can house up to 10 people. For more information, call Matthew Hankins at 318-423-3826.
