A safety briefing with law enforcement agencies at Highways 163 and 164 right at the town of Doyline started the the mornings efforts.
At sunrise you'd typically see traffic flowing through the town, not the case Saturday morning.
"Probably Doyline has never seen the amount of police officers we've got here this morning in the history of Doyline. I'm sure some residents stayed but I'm sure the majority left. I feel confident that we'll get this done quickly and safely," Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton said.
Authorities started to break down and move one million pounds of explosive material sitting in an open field. It is illegally stored in cardboard boxes within Explo Systems Inc, inside Camp Minden.
State Police have a full command center inside to act as a base point for operations.
