The final two CNSS standards certifications were approved this week. BPCC now holds CNSS 4011-4016 certifications as well as the designation of CAE2Y (Center of Academic Excellence for Two-Year college).
CNSS 4015 (NSTISSI 4015 National Training Standard for System Certifiers) and CNSS 4016 (National Information Assurance Training Standard for Risk Analysts) round out a three-year process by BPCC's Cyber faculty for achieving all six of the CNSS certifications.
The accreditations are mainly held by universities such as the United States Air Force Academy and Georgetown University.
Associate Professor for Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Chris Rondeau says only a few two year colleges in the United States carry these certifications.
Rondeau also says the credentials help students in the Cyber Information Systems programs become more marketable to businesses and government agencies that require a higher level of security systems training.
