Shreveport Police investigate overnight shooting at gas station

Shreveport Police are investigating an early morning shooting that has left one man hospitalized.

Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 2:00 a.m. at the Race Way gas station on Hearne Avenue.

Officers on scene told NBC 6 News that a slender African American man approached a car whose driver was filling the vehicle's gas tank.

Police say the driver ran, but was shot in the lower body. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

Authorities hope surveillance footage from the gas station will be help their investigation.
