The Salvation Army of Northwest Louisiana has kicked off its annual Red Kettle campaign. The organization is hoping to raise $170,000 dollars this year. The money will help the local branch of the Salvation Army fund many of the programs run throughout the year and purchase toys for up to 10,000 children this holiday season.
The Red Kettle bell ringers will be stationed at 30 locations between Shreveport and Bossier City seeking your donations. They can be found in front of stores such as Wal-Mart and Belk until 8 p.m. daily.
Donations can also be made online at Online Red Kettle. The Salvation Army is working with AT&T to install credit card readers at red kettle locations. They hope to have the readers in place in the upcoming weeks.
