Explosion shakes Camp Minden, no injuries reported

A second explosion in less than a month rocked Camp Minden in Webster Parish on Tuesday morning.

Matt Harris, with the Louisiana State Police Department, tells NBC 6 News that a small detonation occurred in the area of Guam Street in Area 3.

Harris says that the detonation occurred in an unmanned building.

No one was injured and no evacuations were ordered, according to Harris.

An official with the East - Central Bossier Parish Fire District #1 confirmed that the explosion happened around 8:45 a.m..

The former U.S. Army Ammunition Plant was shaken on October 15th following a large explosion in a storage area.

The previous explosion damaged several area homes and businesses.

According to Harris explosive technicians are currently investigating the scene to determine the cause of Tuesday's blast.
