Barksdale B-52 Loses Bomb Load

An investigation is underway after reports indicate a B-52 from Barksdale Air Force dropped nine dummy bombs into a lake in Kansas. According to a report in the Kansas City Star, a Commander with the Smoky Hill National Guard Range said the bombs were filled with concrete and "not explosives". The bombs were dropped by mistake into Lake Kanopolis while on a training mission. No injuries were reported.
