Monroe double homicide suspects arrested in Shreveport

Two men wanted for double homicide in Monroe, LA, accused of murder are behind bars following their arrest Shreveport.
Early Wednesday morning (Oct. 17, 2012), authorities from the Shreveport Police Department, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Department and the Quachita Parish Sheriff's Department made a harmonic convergence on two homes located in the 500 and 600 blocks of Melrose Street in Shreveport relative to the execution of search warrants at the homes where two men, accused of committing a double homicide in Monroe Louisiana, were said to be hiding out.
On the arrival of officers, they were successful in locating 33-year-old Rico Collins of the 3800 block of Powell Street in Shreveport, along with 28-year-old Demetric Whitlock of the 3400 block of Sunset Drive in Shreveport.
Whitlock and Collins were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Shreveport City Jail as fugitives, where they will remain pending transport back to Ouachita Parish. In addition to the Monroe charges, Collins was charged on two outstanding traffic warrants.
