SHREVEPORT, Louisiana -- A 17-year old has been arrested in connection with an incident on Monday evening where several gun shots were fired into a crowd.

David Allums, 17, of Shreveport, was taken into custody on Tuesday according to authorities.

Allums was wanted for his role in an incident Monday evening in the 3000 block of Waco Street in south east Shreveport.

Police responded to the area after receiving a shots fired call.

When police arrived, witnesses told officers that Allums had lost a fist fight earlier Monday evening and ran to his home to retrieve a .380 caliber hand gun.

When he returned with the gun he allegedly fired 5 to 7 shots at those around the home.

No one was stuck by the bullets fired and Allums ran from the scene, police say.

Allums was located by police on Tuesday and arrested. He has been charged with one count of illegal use of a weapon.
