Patton's Big Night

During the post-game press conference, the adjectives were flowing about Quinton Patton's performance.

"You know I thought Quinton Patton was spectacular," Sonny Dykes, Louisiana Tech head football coach, said. "I don't know if I've ever seen a receiver play as well as he played. He just dominated out there."

His performance was so good, quarterback Colby Cameron found it humorous.

"It's kinda funny to have a reciever like that," Cameron said. "That you have all the confidence in the world to throw to. I'm just glad he's on our team."

The one with the fewest words was Patton himself.

"I just try to stay calm, stay humble at what I was doing out there. Just trying to play my part."

His talking was done on the field. Patton's 21 receptions tied the school record. The 233 yards were a  personal best and his four touchdowns only took three quarters to accomplish.

"I just try to go out there every time to just try to help my team out. If the ball comes my way, I just try to make the best play I can."

Patton's not vocal in the press room, but his teammates still see him as a leader. Cameron desribes him with some of the best words to describe a teammate and a person.

"He's a leader on our team. I'm glad he's my friend."

When Patton was asked about his Quarterback, Patton wasn't at a loss for words.

"Glad that Colby's the QB here. ..he's on our team."
