Two local media veterans hit the talk radio airwaves Nov. 5

Two live call-in radio shows will premiere in November on The Promise, 90.7 FM Radio.

Beginning on Monday, Nov. 5, Ed Baswell will be host of a two-hour daily radio show "Crossfire Radio" from 7-9 a.m.

That same evening, Tom Pace's popular show, "Talk of the Town," will take it to the airwaves from 6-7 p.m.

"Talk radio is the most listened-to format in America," said Dan Perkins, operations director for both 90.7 FM Radio and Miracle 89.1 FM Radio.

" 'Call-in' programs are addictive and with the addition of Ed and Tom, live shows on The Promisewill account for over 14 hours of our broadcast day," Perkins said.

"Currently," he continued, "the Shreveport radio market only carries two local "call-in" programs which are both sports oriented. 'Crossfire Radio' and 'Talk of the Town" will allow callers to be the stars of the shows, as they comment on current topics affecting the Ark-Laa-Tex."

Baswell, an ordained minister, spent 22 years on local television, the majority of which was spent as sports director for KTBS, Channel 3. Recently, he retired from his position as public information officer for the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department after serving 15 years, but still serves as chaplain for the BPSO.

Pace is an award-winning media broadcast veteran of more than four decades and is best known for his popular "Talk of the Town" radio show and webcast, heard locally for more than a decade.

After a two-year absence from radio, Pace is thrilled to be returning to the airwaves.
