Time is
running out to solve a Shreveport school's overcrowding problem. Two plans are currently on the table to
handle the growing student population at Oak Park Elementary.
One plan
involves a $12 million expansion at the existing campus. The other option is to move the school to the
former Bethune Middle School. That will
cost four million dollars.
Oak Park's
enrollment has already gone up 50% and next year the school will add another
grade level. Board members will vote on
a plan next week.
