Updated: October 8, 2012

Minter, a junior from Suwanee, Ga., shared the defensive player of the week honor with Florida defensive back Matt Elam.

Against Florida, Minter set the school record with 17 solo tackles on his way to a career-best 20 total tackles. The 20 total tackles were one shy of the school record of 21 set by Albert Richardson against South Carolina in 1982.

Minter added two sacks for 16-yards in losses and another tackle behind the line of scrimmage. He also forced a fumble that was recovered and returned 25 yards by Kwon Alexander.

For the game, LSU held Florida to just 237 total yards, including only 81 yards during a scoreless first half for the Gators.
