Shreveport communications officer charged with domestic abuse

Shreveport Police officials have charged a Shreveport communications officer with a misdemeanor following a complaint received by the department this morning.
Alicia Vincent, of the 5600 Block of Buncombe Road, has been charged with one count of domestic abuse battery.
At approximately 6:25 a.m. today (Oct. 8, 2012)), Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the Buncombe Road address relative to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, patrolmen contacted 34-year-old Markus Vincent who reported to them his wife, later identified as 30year-old Alicia Vincent, had physically assaulted him following a verbal disagreement.
Upon further investigation, officers learned that Alicia Vinson was a police communications officer and police supervisors were immediately notified.
Based on information gathered by authorities during their inquiry, Alicia Vinson was charged.
Vinson, who was hired by the department in October 2006, has been placed on paid administrative leave by Chief of Police Willie Shaw in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Shreveport Fire and Police Civil Service Board.
