Updated: October 4, 2012

Bossier City police have arrested a man in the shooting death of his girlfriend last month. Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit arrested Taurus Tramell Carter, 22, of Bossier City early this evening on a criminal warrant charging him with second degree murder. Carter is charged with killing Ieshia Winbush, 21, of Bossier City on September 23, 2012 at Carter's home in the 600 block of Patton Street.

Detectives had considered Carter a suspect in the case since the initial phase of the investigation and have worked the past week and a half securing enough evidence to warrant the charge against Carter. Detectives secured the warrant for Carter's arrest this afternoon.

Carter was booked into the Bossier City Jail. Bond is set at $500,000.
