Arroyo, Quini Sweep RRAC Player of the Week honors

WACO, Texas -- Alan Arroyo of LSU Shreveport earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 24-30, while his teammate, Lance Quini, grabbed RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the same dates.

Arroyo, a junior midfielder from Van, Texas, played a part in every goal the Pilots scored in a 2-0 week. He netted the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Wiley College (Texas) then scored a goal and assisted on another to provide the difference in a 2-1 win against the University of St. Thomas (Texas). LSUS is 3-0-1 in conference play and 7-2-1 on the season.

Quini, a junior goalkeeper from San Antonio, Texas, hauled in 15 saves and allowed one goal in the unbeaten week for LSUS. He was in goal for all 180 minutes and was credited with a shutout over Wiley.

Daniel Almaguer of Texas Wesleyan University, Marcos Escobar of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas), and Aaron Guerrero of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) were nominated for this week's offensive award, while Luis Flores of OLLU and Otis Garlo of HT were defensive nominees.
