Bossier Parish & Bossier City neighborhoods to celebrate National Night Out

Bossier Sheriff's Office has 17 neighborhoods throughout Bossier Parish that are hosting National Night Out block parties tomorrow night, Oct. 2.
"This is a night for residents to meet with their neighbors and get to know the deputies who patrol their areas," said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington. "There are events planned for Plain Dealing down to south Bossier, and I encourage neighbors to come out and spend an evening with each other, law enforcement officers and firefighters."
National Night Out is a crime prevention initiative designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and strengthen neighborhood spirit and law enforcement-community partnerships. Block parties in Bossier Parish will be held at the following locations, with most events starting at 6 p.m.

Cross Creek (Regent Cir. cul-de-sac)
James Street
Kingston Plantation (Cattail Tr.)
Lakewood (Ridgefield Dr./Hunter's Hollow Dr.)
Lakewood (Placid Pt.)

Plantation Estates (Dana Lane cul-de-sac)
Rosedale Place (Trinity Dr.)
Willow Lake Adult Community (Community Center)
Twin Point Drive
Woodlake South I (circle at the end of Lakeway Blvd.)

In Bossier City, several neighborhood events have registered for Bossier City Night Out Against Crime which will take place from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Twelve events have signed up with the Bossier City Police Department as Bossier City residents turn on outside lights and spending an evening outdoors with neighbors, police officers and firefighters in this annual crime fighting effort.
The goal of Bossier City Night Out Against Crime is to: (1) heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnership; and (3) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The following streets have registerd:
400 block of Minden Street
2200 block of Nattin Street
1100 block of Rickerson Street
200 block of Cold Harbor Court
5000 block of Castille Court
100 block of Rosemont Place
2100 block of Scott Street
1000 block of Nix Court
Volunteers of America of North Louisiana, 2300 block of Riverwood Drive

600 block of Enchanted Lane
Hooter Park in Barksdale Annex - The annual Barksdale Annex Neighborhood Association's "March for Jesus" will kick off this event. The march begins at 6 p.m. on Fullilove Dr. at Barksdale Blvd. and goes east to Gibson Drive then makes a right into Hooter Park where a neighborhood gathering will take place
