Updated: September 30, 2012

The combination of wind and rain caused a tree to snap and fall on a home in North Shreveport.

Fortunately, there was only one person inside the home and they were not injured. The tree fell across the back of a home on Wheeler Drive.

The tree fell through the roof in one bedroom. Efrain Perez sleeps in that room.   He said he's glad it happened when he wasn't home.

"I thank God it didn't happen at night," said Perez.

A total of five people live inside the home. They said they'll probably sleep in a hotel for the night. Their landlord plans to fix the damage.
