Your old, smelly sneakers could help kid's fighting cancer. "Dunk your Kicks" is a national program that takes donated tennis shoes, recycles them and then gives money to families with kids fighting cancer. David Plotkin started the organization after his own son was diagnosed with leukemia. Plotkin says DeSoto and Bossier Parish schools are now on board with this fundraiser and that's where you can donate your old kicks. Here's an interesting fact: 300 million shoes are thrown away in landfills nationwide each year. Plotkin says if his group could just get one percent of those shoes it would be millions of dollars for kids across the country.
