TXK. child death under investigation

Texarkana, Texas police are investigating the death of a child.
       
Authorities arrested 32-year-old Jimmy Paul Mahone of Texarkana, Texas for the capital murder of 2-year-old Dalton Slaten of Texarkana, Texas. 

According to police, Mahone is a family acquaintance who had Slaten before the child was hospitalized with what's described as "multiple injuries" Friday night.

The child was later pronounced dead after being transported to a Little Rock hospital.

Autospy results were pending as of Monday afternoon.

Mahone's bond is set at $1.5 million, according to police.
