The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a motorcycle crash that occurred this afternoon on LA169 near Shirley Francis Road.

The motorcycle, a 2001 Harley Davidson, was being driven southbound when its driver crossed a double yellow line and veered into the path of a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala.

The motorcycle driver was airlifted by LifeAir to LSU Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival from internal injuries.

Her name has not yet been released pending notifications of family.

The driver of the Impala, Yvonne S. Banks, 51, of Shreveport, was transported to Willis Knighton-South, along with her 91-year-old father, M.J. Snell, also of Shreveport.

Their injuries were not severe. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts.

The motorcycle driver was traveling in a loose group being led by one motorcycle and being followed by two others.

Reportedly, she was test driving her recently-purchased motorcycle, and was only a few miles from her home.

She was wearing a safety helmet that was properly secured.
