About 40 paramedics and drivers from Pafford Emergency Medical Services are heading to the state, including two from the Hope area.
The units are coming from Pafford's network, which spans four states.
The members could be sent to places like Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
"When your brothers and sisters call and ask for help, we need to respond to that request. That's what our paramedics and EMT's do every day," said Pafford EMS CEO Jamie Pafford-Gresham.
