RUSTON, La. (Aug. 17, 2012) - In a preview of what is to come on Aug. 30, Louisiana Tech is transporting its football team to Shreveport Saturday for a practice and Fan Day autograph session at Independence Stadium.

The team will hold an open practice at Independence Stadium beginning at 6 p.m. with fans being able to watch for free from the Club Level, which will open at 5:15 p.m. Then fans can stay in the Club Level as the team will join the fans at 7:30 p.m. for an autograph and meet-and-greet session.

Refreshments will be provided and those that haven't already done so can purchase their tickets to Tech's season opener on Aug. 30 at Independence Stadium against Texas A&M. Fans can also register their children for the LA Tech Kids Club where a $40 registration fee provides your child free admission to all regular season LA Tech Athletics events in Ruston (over 100 events per year), an official Kids Club t-shirt and backpack, invitations to exclusive events and more.

"I am very excited," said head football coach Sonny Dykes about going to Shreveport on Saturday. "That is important for our players. We are excited to get over there and try and make that stadium our stadium and make it feel like it is our home stadium. Any time you can go practice at that place and get familiar with it I think it is going to help your team and help your psyche a little bit."

A limited number of 2012 football schedule posters will be given out as players and coaches will sign autographs. Autograph cards will also be provided while fans also can bring their own memorabilia to be signed (one item per person please).
