Local Dollar General robbed by masked man

Police detectives are working to identify and apprehend a man who robbed a central Shreveport dollar store this morning.
At approximately 9 a.m. on August 16, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Dollar General in the 2800 block of Jewella Avenue. Upon arrival there, patrolmen contacted a witness who told them a male suspect burst into the store brandishing a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene of the crime on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect is described as a medium build black male, approximately five feet ten to six feet tall, wearing dark glasses, dark sweat pants, a grey hooded sweat-shirt with a mask covering his face. Investigators were successful in recovering surveillance video footage from the business.
