A district wide crisis drill was held this morning at every Bossier Parish School campus.
Administrators, staff and district security officers create a lock-down environment at the schools by announcing the drill on intercoms and walkie-talkies. Classrooms shut down by teachers turning off the lights, and students grouping together behind locked doors.
Officers and administrators, then, checked every classroom to make sure teachers and students understand their roles in case a real emergency occurs.
"This just gives them an early, early opportunity for the first few days of school to prepare for any type of emergency should it arise on a given campus," said Officer Danny Dison, Head of Bossier Parish School's Security.
Teachers practice the crisis lock-down drill with their students prior to official practices held this morning.
