Bicyclist sustains serious injuries in Texarkana crash

     Shortly before 9 p.m. Monday evening, Texarkana, Texas Police Officers responded to a vehicle crash involving a bicyclist in the 2000 block of New Boston Road. Investigators determined that John Cole, 19, of Wake Village, was riding his bicycle westbound on

New Boston Road, when he attempted to change lanes. This action caused him to

strike a vehicle being driven by Avis Miller, 52, of Calhoun, GA.

Other vehicles stopped in the roadway, however, Cole was struck by a second vehicle being driven by Richie Criner, 56, of Wake Village. Cole was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

  The Texarkana Texas Police Department's Traffic Unit is conducting this investigation. At this point, no citations have been issued.
