Shortly after 7:30 this morning  (July 26, 2012), Louisiana State Police Troop G investigated a two vehicle crash on US Highway 84 at the intersection of Interstate 49 that claimed the life of a Coushatta Woman.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Kenworth driven by 27-year-old John Cline of Longview, TX was traveling south on Interstate 49, when he exited to US Highway 84.

For reasons still under investigation, Cline failed to stop at the stop sign. Cline entered the intersection, and his vehicle was struck on the driver's side by a west bound 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by 23-year old Carly Deemer of Coushatta.
Deemer and her passenger 19-year old Georgia Wilson also of Coushatta, were not restrained. Deemer was pronounced dead at the scene by the DeSoto Parish Coroner. Wilson sustained serious injuries from the crash and was transported by Life Air to LSU Medical Center of Shreveport for treatment.
Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. Cline was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. This crash remains under investigation.
