Dozens of dogs have reportedly been rescued from a Texarkana home.

According to Jeff Tarpley Dog Rescue, 38 dachshund dogs were voluntarily given up to them by their owners last Friday.

Most of the dogs were being held inside a Texarkana, Arkansas couple's home, according to rescuer Jeff Tarpley.

The rescue group declined to release the names of the dogs' former owners.

Tarpley says while the dogs were in relatively good health, some had weight issues or hair-loss issues.

Several dogs are now staying at rescues and kennels across Texas until they can find homes.
